Our Pre-Kindy room delivers a quality long-day-care program
Children in our Pre-Kindy room benefit from a fun, nurturing environment and are cared for each day by our passionate early learning educators and degree qualified teacher.
Our Pre-Kindy room is licensed for 30 children, although we endeavour to keep the number below this on a daily basis to ensure a high educator to child ratio.
Our day consists of providing children with predictable routines, balanced with unstructured play opportunities both indoors and outdoors. Visual scheduling forms a large part of our delivery of the program, allowing children to understand what is coming next in their day. Teachers and educators give children the time they need to transition between these routines in a supporting and nurturing way.
Activities in Pre-Kindy are based on the interests and needs of the children. They are planned to extend learning that is taking place in the pre-kindy room.
Activities may include:
- Dress ups
- Story time
- Role play
- Sandpit play
- Puzzles
- Painting and craft
- Outdoor playground
- Nature playground
- Excursions
- Gardening
- Water play (this we do all year round)
- Messy play (the messier the better!)
- Sensory play experiences
- Gross and fine motor activities that promote muscle development

Children bring in their own lunch boxes containing morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea as meals are not provided. mykindy promotes healthy eating and therefore encourage parents to pack healthy options for morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.
